Dear (yung) Arielle,

Go away. Get off the computer and go outside. There is no reason to sign up for Facebook. Don’t write on that wall. You can just message them on MSN. Why are you having a conversation via the wall? It’s so unnecessary. You’re so extra. Arielle is… is that really necessary to update? Do you think this “/” means the ‘is’ doesn’t count? Go play with your slingshot and rocks in the forest. Pick up the landline and dial your friends number instead of waiting for each other to write on the walls. It’ll save you so much time in the future, this way, you wouldn’t have to delete hundreds of wall posts. Change your privacy settings. Don’t post notes. Don’t post photos. Don’t post videos. Stranger danger, do you know that person? Don’t add them back. Why are you so young and full of hope though?

You’ll deactivate your Facebook maybe five times in total. But you always had to reactivate because some wise-guy in your group suggested it was the best way to communicate. Don’t give your passwords to anyone. Delete all the message threads. Trust me, you cannot wait for the day you no longer have to do group projects and can finally delete Facebook forever. Someone is trolling you. Just block them. You don’t need that negativity. Why do kids make up fake profiles with real names? Why are kids so mean? That’s just the way it is to be honest. But you’ll get through it.

You should have never started your digital footprint at the most embarrassing age of humans. Kid. Preteen. You don’t know anything. The ugliest phase. You should have just gone outside. Turned off the computer. Stick to MSN, even though that too will phase out, and you’ll probably have to sign up for Skype. It honestly never ends. The “signing up” and “make an account”. Sure it’s fun at first, but it gets mad draining. Especially LinkedIn. Probably the worst offender. It’s not even fun???

So get off the computer. And go outside.
