The most effective way to find a good job is through networking. By connecting with each other there are ways to find your dream job. Increasingly these connections are made online other known as social media. Social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are just a few of the biggest networks that are used throughout job search. The number of users on these sites astounding and it is growing. Since companies of all sizes rely referrals as their best source for new hires, they are turning to these networks as a primary source for gathering information as they make their hiring selections. Another fact is that information about yourself on the Internet especially on social media is forming your online brand. What that brand says about you can either help or hurt you in your job search. Have you Googled yourself lately? You can be sure employers are doing just that. To help manage your online brand and effectively use social media, you must consider deciding which social media tools are best for your personal brand management. LinkedIn is an obvious choice but other platforms can be effective as well, such as Facebook and Twitter. If you are already active on social media this is a good time to make sure that what’s online will not undermine your job search. A rule to remember is to not post anything online, you would not want to include on your resume. Another point is to build your network. By adding social media connections can allow you to help find employment. In the future I believe that it is going to be harder for employers to find who they want to hire online. I believe that people are going to be smarter about what they post online. For example I tend to see a lot of people change their social media names into something not recognizable. Or they just simply change their status to private. Although a lot of things can change over the years, these days anything can happen.
