Ensuring a safe and fair ducky mint

With the Rubber Duck Bath Party mint fast approaching, we are ready to share more details on the mint, as well as an update on why we decided to turn the public mint into a raffle mint.

Mint details

As published before, the mint price and the maximum mint amount is the same for anyone who mints a duck whether during the pregame mint or the raffle mint.

Mint price: 0.08 ETH per duck + gas
Max mint amount: 2 ducks

You will be able to mint from our website as well as directly on Etherscan (see note on this at the end). We will publish our contract address ahead of the mint on Twitter and link to it from our website as well.

We support MetaMask, WalletConnect, and Coinbase Wallet. You can mint from both desktop and mobile using any of the wallets supported. We strongly recommend people to use MetaMask on desktop when minting because it’s the most reliable and fool-proof setup.

The max mint amount is for the entirety of the mint, if you have minted 2 ducks during the pregame mint, you won’t be able to mint again at during the raffle mint.

Pregame mint

The pregame mint will start on March 1st, 7am EST, and will run for 24 hours. The pregame list will include no more than 5,000 addresses, meaning that every single person on the list will be able to mint 2 duckies without stress during the 24-hour minting window. You can time your mint in a way that is most gas efficient and you won’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to get your ducks!

We strongly recommend anyone on the pregame list to verify now that their address is registered by connecting to our pregame page.

We will close the pregame list on Sunday, February 27, 12pm EST. After closing the list, no changes can be made. We will publish the list of addresses in a spreadsheet after conducting final checks to ensure no bots and fraudsters made it onto the list.

Raffle mint

To ensure a safe, fair, and human public mint, we have decided to turn our public mint into a raffle mint. When taking the current circumstances into account, if we would have a traditional public mint, the entire supply will be minted by bots which will harm our community and culture. Allowing that to happen would not give the public a fair chance to mint duckies and therefore defeat the purpose of having a public mint entirely.

Given the above, we have decided to hold a raffle mint instead. The raffle mint is similar to a public mint in the sense that you won’t be guaranteed to be able to mint a duck as there will be more wallets on the list than ducks available.

How to enter the raffle mint?
Shortly after closing the pregame list on February 27, we will publish a link to enter the raffle. Entry requirements will be announced soon.

How many ducks will be available during the raffle mint?
Any ducks not minted during the pregame mint will be available for minting during the raffle mint.

Are the mint price and max mint amount the same as the pregame mint?
Yes, we have an equalized mint. The mint price is 0.08Ξ per duck + gas and you can mint 2 ducks per wallet.

How many people can win a spot in the raffle mint?
It depends on how many ducks are left from the pregame mint. We will use a 1:2 ratio between available ducks and wallets we add to the raffle mint with the maximum amount of 5,000 wallets. So for example, if 2,000 ducks are not minted during the pregame mint, we will grant 4,000 people access to the raffle mint.

I won a spot on the raffle mint, is it guaranteed I can mint a duck?
No, the raffle mint doesn’t guarantee that you get to mint. The raffle mint is similar to public mints in the sense that you will be able to mint as long as the ducks haven’t sold out. Given that the list has more people on it than ducks available there’s time pressure to mint as soon as possible.

What time does the raffle mint start?
March 2nd, exact time to be announced later.

For how long does the raffle mint run?
Until all 10,000 duckies are minted.

I have a spot on the pregame list, can I enter the raffle?
Anyone who already has a pregame spot is not allowed to enter the raffle. If we find people with pregame spots adding alt wallets and accounts or tricking the system in any way, we reserve the right to remove them from the pregame list.

The team will be minting 100 ducks with the following distribution:

The remaining 10 ducks will go to the RDBP Vault and will be used for future collaborations, partnerships and community events. The team mint will happen before the start of the pregame mint.

Safety reminder

This is prime time for hackers and scammers, so we all need to be extra careful and vigilant. Please take the time to read through the below safety reminders.

• We will never DM you. Our team will never send you a direct message, especially not about the mint. Please turn off your DMs and don’t interact with any message you’re getting from someone that looks like us or even has the same name.
• We only have one website. duck.art is our official website and the only one we have. We won’t sell ducks or ask you to mint or do any action on any other website. Please be aware of links that might look like duck.art.
• We only have one Twitter. @RubberDuckBP is our official Twitter page and the only one we have. We won’t announce anything or publish news from any other Twitter page besides that one. Please be aware of impersonators.
• We’re not on OpenSea yet. Be aware of copycats and fake collections on OpenSea, Solana, LooksRare, etc. If you see our art trading in any marketplace — do not buy or engage with it. We will publish the official OpenSea collection on our website and Twitter before the start of the mint.
• We don’t do surprise mints. Our exact mint dates are published on our website and Twitter. We’ll never DM you with a “surprise mint” message, so please be aware of scams.
• Don’t rush in. Most of the losses happen when we’re impulsive and do things fast out of the fear of missing out. Be cautious, do research, read carefully, and don’t perform any actions with your wallet unless you’re 100% sure you’re doing the right thing.
• Verify contract. We will publish our contract address both on Twitter and on our website before the start of the mint. When interacting with the contract directly, please ensure that you’re dealing with the right contract. Scammers will use contracts that are identical to ours to convince you into believing that they are real.

Note on minting directly from Etherscan
We allow people to mint directly from the contract using Etherscan or any other interface. We secure the pregame mint using merkle tree, which ensures that only wallets on the list can mint. We will publish a spreadsheet of all wallets on the list including their respective proofs. Don’t worry, publishing the proofs is 100% safe as the transaction will fail if it isn’t signed by the wallet it corresponds to. When minting on our website you don’t have to worry about looking up the proof on the spreadsheet as the proof gets sent with the transaction automatically.
