Take The Ruby on Rails Hosting Survey 2012

In January 2009, we invited the community to participate in a survey about the state of hosting Ruby on Rails applications. We wanted to get a better understanding of how people are currently managing their deployment and hosting process, and we were fortunate to collect submissions from 1,251 people!

In 2012, we modified a few of the old questions, added some new ones, and set out to discover what had changed over the last three years. This time around, a whopping 1,306 people took time out of their busy schedules to let us know how they’re hosting their apps, what tools and frameworks they’re using, and much more. With the results in hand, thanks to all of your generous participation, we were able to design a helpfulinfographic and write up a thorough article analyzing the data.

A big thanks to the community!

We are so grateful to all those who responded, blogged, tweeted, and otherwise helped get the word out about our survey. We hope that you all find the results, and the accompanying article and infographic, as fascinating as we do.

If you have any questions about the results, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Cheers,
The Planet Argon team
