This week I learned the very basic of machine learning using ml5, this is my first time to actually play with the machine learning, and I am so excited about this since I always think machine learning is too far from me, from 0 coding background designer, but ml5 is just so easy to understand and I can quickly start to work on it.

Besides, I am also taking the light and interactivity class with Tom, and we are currently learning how to use and get control with DMX Light fixture and one important feature is that you can talk to DMX light through JavaScript, so I could use a machine learning way to control DMX.

I first go through all the courses in the list and I got quite familiar with the rules to do the KNN training. And then I separate the code from the DMX light one and merge them together.

So the process is you should first train the browser to recognize your different gestures, I basically made 4 modes, all hands down, all hands up, left hand up, right hand up. But I actually just train 3 of them to demo.

After they got trained, you can play with the light. However, the model is not so stable, but you can still get a good experience.

I am using the ADJ DOTZ as the light source, it only has 3 properties, R, G, and B. There are a lot of light fixtures that you can play with, they have many fun functions like panning or tiling, you can make the light moving.
