Have progressive Democrats accidentally found the key to electoral success? Are traditional ways of campaigning dead? Do politicians just need musicians and other artists to spread the word for them?

Welcome to “Paul Vallas Hates House Music,” a viral video that may have just helped elect a mayor in Chicago.

I don’t think anybody really knows if Paul Vallas, Brandon Johnson’s mayoral opponent in the Chicago election, actually hates house music. Apparently, his campaign had no comment when asked.

Doesn’t matter. It’s the idea that counts. Maybe this will start a much-needed trend to get politicians to just shut their mouths and let the music do the talking for them. Issue a policy paper or three, and then let the jam take over.
