What is Roam & Bard?

Roam & Bard is a publication about the stories from our travels: the people, food, cultures, and discovery in every sense of the word.

Roam & Bard was born from the discontent of travel material titled “Top 25 Things To Do in Barcelona”; it’s just as much about the writer’s experience as it is about the location and culture there. A publication of stories from people who that take the path less traveled, and the lessons and experience they’ve gained on the way.

We’re not another travel publication, but that’s where our stories will be rooted. We’re not another long form publisher, but you can count on our stories being long form. We’re not going to be as big as Lonely Planet, but we’re not going to be niche either. We’ll share our stories sourced from the cultures and offbeat locations from around the world we actually care about, and think you’ll care about too.

We’re a travel community for people that want to talk about their experiences rather than read empty lists of recommendations.

We’re going to experiment with travel stories. We’ll explore locations that start or end conversations, and tell stories that have meaning and impact. We’ll try to show you things about this planet that are shareable, and memorable. We’ll try not to mess anything up. Keyword: TRY.

The plan is not for Roam & Bard to exist in isolation. Room & Bard will grow and change as the community grows and changes. From now until then, we’ll collect and publish stories that inspire you, excite you, or begins a conversation you want to carry on, which will hopefully be often.
