Isaac Birir is the man to watch as he leads two other Kenyans in tomorrow’s (Sunday) Perth University men’s half marathon event in Perth Australia.

Birir and William Chebon are doing their studies in Perth while the third Kenyan Alfred Koech is a former student and he is the founder and director of Landson Foundation.

Birir will be taking on the course hoping to defend the title he won last year. This besides using the event as a build up session towards the Melbourne Marathon that’s coming up later in September.

Freshman Chebon is parading here ahead of the coming races all set for Australia. He is the first Kenyan to win Gold Coast Marathon and a runner in this year’s Gold Coast Half Marathon.

Koech will be making his half marathon debut in this event. He will also be using the event to build the awareness about the Landson Foundation’s which has been instrumental in enabling talented Kenyan students to study while running at home and out of the country.

“Yes, it’s my maiden half marathon event and I am looking forward for a great show, that’s besides making connection to the foundation,” Koech told Run Kenya.

The three Kenyans are being coached by Tony Chamberlain of Perth Distance project in Australia.
