Last month I experienced my first ever running injury. Or, at least, discomfort.

Sunday August 25th

I’d just finished my 20km run, and I hadn’t felt any sort of discomfort. Well, I guess maybe brief pain in my left foot but it went away pretty quickly.

But when I got home from my run and took off my shoes I had pain on the top of my left foot and my left big toe. Which I ended up having for 2 days.

According to Dr Google, I think it may have been Extensor Tendonitis? I did some foot stretches for that.

I skipped running on the Monday and just took it easy. Tuesday was also a non-run day. So I didn’t run for two days.

Wednesday August 28th

I did a short, easy run, because the pain had gone away by then. I changed my run/walk ratio a bit to take it easier. I did only 60 seconds running, 30 seconds walking.

Friday August 30th

I changed the laces configuration (see photo) to give me more room on the top of my foot…I watched a video on YouTube. And I also changed my ratio to a super short one — only 20 seconds of running with 30…
