Streamer Spotlight: Commander Cody
All too often on Twitch we see stumble across some great streamers hidden away in the depths of the discovery page. The methods employed by this platform for the ranking of content creators, is quite honestly, abysmal.
Commander Cody is no exception to this rule, putting out some of the most polished streams we’ve ever seen, yet Twitch has decided that tucking this gem away was in the best interest of… well no one.
First Impressions
Have you ever wondered what your average late night television talk show would look like in about 1,000 years? What would they be discussing if Warframe, Anthem, Mass Effect, and Alien were reality?
Commander Cody answers these questions and provides viewers with a completely immersive futuristic platform, he has taken content preparation and presentation to a level that 99% of those on Twitch have yet to dream of.
Game Content
I would describe this channel as a true variety based in the Sci-Fi genre, playing games such as Anthem, Borderlands, and Bioshock.
Additionally, one of my personal favorite aspects is the frequent just chatting segments which seems to be some of the most popular content on this channel when it comes to viewer engagement.
Stream Quality (Audio & Visual)
The stream is broadcast in 1080p60 so you’re looking at extremely high quality video with no lag or other noticeable issues.
Audio is clear, balanced, and quality is what you would expect from a true professional.
Overlay is minimal, and does exactly as much as it should, without getting out of control. You get all of the information and alerts you would expect, but the main focus remains on the game play or host depending on the format of the particular stream.
Community & Engagement
While chat does move quite quickly at times, at no point have I ever seen Commander Cody get overwhelmed, and is able to fully engage with every person.
You can tell that he genuinely cares, remembers, and interacts with all members of his community by name in a way any person would communicate with a friend (granted this friend still calls us runescape gaming).
This stream is also an excellent resource if you’re having issues in a game which fits the Sci-Fi genre, having seen the Commander assist numerous viewers achieve their objectives.
