Head of Scouting Adrian Collins Okezie aka Courtside Ace has a brief conversation with IMG ACADEMY 2022 Prospect Jarace Walker who has Straight To The League (STTL) potential.

A summer conversation with a 2022 prospect that has STTL potential.

Where did you spend most of your time in June?

In June, I was mostly working out. Lifting, conditioning, and basketball workouts is what I was mostly focused on. My biggest goal in June was to improve and get better everyday.

Is there a person you are targeting to surpass? What matchup is your ideal matchup? Who regardless of class or league would you like to go head to head against to answer the unknown?

I don’t have any ideal matchups and/or someone I’d like to go against. I focus on myself and improving as much as I can.

How was your USA basketball experience, on the big stage?

USA basketball is always a great experience, being in an environment where I can represent my country and play against the top players in the country is what I’ve always wanted to do.

What do you think is the most common thing you hear from coaches or trainers you’ve worked with?

My work ethic is that of an elite athlete.

Did you get to play Steph one on on at SC camp?

No. I didn’t.

I would have loved to see that matchup. Willing defenders that are offensively savvy are highly sought after. Why do you like to defend?

I like defending because you can can really take the opposing players confidence away and it can lead to easy offense.

It’s common for players to bounce around on the circuit but I’ve always seen you in a Team Thrill jersey, how has consistency helped with achieving your goals?

Consistency helped me reached my goals because I’ve always had the same people in my corner, pushing me to contribute to get better.

Thanks Jarace

No problem.
