If you can’t quite seem to overcome your stubborn runner’s knee, I’m here with a simple solution. What your stiff, painful tissues need is a breath of new life in the form of fresh exercises. Your body is craving movements that take you beyond your regular range of motion and build strength and stability from the most vulnerable of positions. While this may sound intimidating in your painful state, it’s a commitment that you won’t regret making.

As a kinesiologist, one of the biggest mistakes I see runners making with their rehab is not being aggressive enough. While your knees may feel fragile during your runs, you’d be shocked at how much they can handle in the arena of strength and conditioning. While I’m not saying you should push through pain and rush things, exploring new exercises in a safe environment will do you some good in the pursuit of pain-free running.
