Every Runner Needs Support
Why runners should never underestimate the value of an understanding partner
The one constant through all parts of my running life, good and bad, has been the support of my partner.
In days gone by she would stand out come rain or shine, and a myriad of in-between weather conditions, to support me at races. During recent times when I wondered whether I would ever run injury-free again, she was the gentle positive force that helped banish such self-pitying thoughts.
You see, regardless of all the training, all the miles we put in, all the strength and flexibility exercises designed to keep the body intact, we all need the support and understanding of loved ones.
It does not matter whether you are an elite runner or someone who just likes to run to keep fit, we need their encouragement more than we sometimes appreciate.
An understanding partner
Regardless of your ability, running can be a full-on activity. Most runners are enthusiastic amateurs who occasionally enjoy participating in races, whether on the road, trail, or cross country.
