How to Make Running Fun

And never get bored of it

I wouldn't believe anyone who'd say that long-distance running is the most exciting sport ever. Watching a 2-hour marathon race without a break itself is impossible. But running day after day after day — quite tiring.

It's tough both mentally and physically. And the reason why so many people in the world run regularly is that they've found a way to make it fun and exciting.

Even if you're good at running, lacing up and getting out there several times per week (if not every day) can get too much to handle. But with the right tactics at hand, you can put a new twist on your favorite sport and never get jaded.

I've been an avid runner for over eight years. And now that I look back and think of the things that made me stick and skip running only in the case of a serious injury, I have to attribute a lot to my adventurous character.

Even though long-distance running is a lonesome sport in many ways, you can and should spice it up occasionally and make it less boring.

As Barney Stinson kept repeating, “When I get sad, I just stop being sad and be awesome instead.” And the same goes for running — when you don't feel like doing it, put a new spin on it:
