Jeanette Arnold is an example of what healthy habits can do for you. And it’s not a little thing.

Older runners may lose perspective of how amazing it is to run. Did you know that about 1 out of 4 adults over the age of 55 have difficulty walking a quarter mile? Jeanette is not one of those.

At 62, she just completed her 51st marathon. That’s 51. She did all of them in the last 18 years, about 3 marathons a year. There were times when she had to run up to 6 in one year.

Jeanette learned healthy, athletic habits early in life, as a child, and she stuck to them. While there was no cross-country team in school, she ran track and field. She stayed active through college and afterward as a recreational runner.

Later, as life happened, she became a mom and took on many responsibilities, but she wasn’t deterred. She worked as a Physical Education teacher and she not only taught about being fit, she practiced what she taught.

She was used to getting up early and running, and never stopped challenging herself.

The results years later are off the charts. I’m not even able to wrap my head around her achievements.
