Menstruation is sometimes considered the winter season of a woman’s cycle.

Cycle syncing is the process of adapting exercise to each of the four phases of the reproductive cycle by tracking the rise and fall of the female reproductive hormones. Cycle syncing is a holistic approach to women’s health in understanding and balancing hormonal shifting with exercise routines and dietary considerations. It gently supports a woman through the highs and lows of the menstrual cycle in a moderate way, considering her mood and energy levels.

Menstruation is the first phase of the female menstrual cycle when bleeding begins until it stops. It can range in length from three to seven days. During this phase, the endometrial lining of the uterus is shed through bleeding because fertilization did not occur. The uterus no longer needs the additional lining to support possible pregnancy.

Progesterone and estrogen levels also drop significantly during menstruation, causing many women to experience discomfort, mood changes, and pain in different parts of the body. Women may experience additional symptoms with menstruation.
