Can you use running to aid in your weight loss journey? Absolutely. Is it a one-size-fits-all experience? Sadly, no. What works for one person may be completely unachievable for another. This boils down to our differences in genetics, physiology, environment, and priorities.

There is no magic running pill for weight loss. There is no way to hack the system. Unfortunately, the internet provides a flurry of misinformed tips and tricks for shedding excess weight. Due to the ever-increasing trend of yo-yo diets and “quick fixes” to weight loss, many victims are left discouraged, confused, and hopeless.

If you’re trying to lose weight while running, I want to provide you with hope. It’s not all bad. In fact, running is a fantastic way to increase your daily energy expenditure to start tipping the scales in the right direction. What must occur, however, is a crucial mindset shift. If you want to lose weight and do it right, sustainability is your best friend. If you want sustainability to be your best friend, you better be ready to simplify the heck out of your running habit.
