My 2025 Running Goals
A year of balance and growth
As I look ahead to 2025, I’ve taken time to reflect on the highs and lows of 2024. Like many runners, I want to improve my race performance, avoid burnout, and deepen my connection to the sport. This year, the focus isn’t just on new milestones but on creating a sustainable approach to training and racing.
Last year came with challenges — most notably balancing extensive travel with marathon training. Despite those hurdles, I gained valuable insights into what works for me as a runner and where I can make meaningful changes. Armed with those lessons, I’ve set five goals for 2025 that align with both my aspirations and the realities of life.
Goal #1: Embrace Flexibility
In 2024, I spent 34% of the year traveling. While that number might seem manageable, it came with significant challenges. Between flights, time-zone shifts, and adjusting to new routines, I often found myself too exhausted to train effectively. Lost training days turned into lost weeks, and by the time I settled back into a rhythm, another trip loomed on the horizon.
