I’m sure we’ve all heard of the rumor that ‘cardio kills your gains’. Before I go ahead and dismantle this statement, I must admit that there is some truth behind it. Activities like running can undoubtedly interrupt your body’s ability to gain muscle if you aren’t approaching your fitness the right way. Do not fear, however, as it’s not rocket science to avoid this particular conundrum.

One of my favorite roles as a kinesiologist is to empower individuals to run and weight lift to the best of their abilities. In fact, I strongly encourage everyone to have an element of both activities in their weekly training from an injury prevention and performance standpoint.
