For the past two months, I’ve been working on a series of articles comparing the seven Abbott World Marathon Majors — Boston, Chicago, New York, Berlin, London, Tokyo, and Sydney.

I started with the demographics — looking at the gender and age of the participants. Then, I explored which race had the best and most consistent weather. After that, I compared the courses of the different races to see which was the toughest.

That brings us to one final question — which race has the fastest finishers?

We’ll dive into that today, looking at the question in a few different ways.

You could compare the fastest of the fastest — the record setters. Or, you could compare the elites. It’s also worth looking at how the middle-of-the-pack runners fare, as well.
