There are many different races in track to choose from depending on your running ability. If you are a distance runner, there are many options for you to choose from. The 800 meter dash is two laps around the track. Some runners, like myself, would consider this a long run because it is half a mile. The long distance runs include 1500m, the 3200m and more. These races take a lot of conditioning and training in order to do well in them. You need to have good a endurance, pace, and the right mental state. Running long distances can be crazy to think about. Like how would you be able to run 2 miles on a track? So, you have to be patient and willing to give it your all. Now moving onto the sprints. The sprints in track include, the 100m, 200m and 400m. Some people may consider the 800m as a sprint though. The 100m is a very short race, only one straight while running as fast as you possibly can. In my personal experience, the 100m is one of the hardest races. The next race is the 200m dash. This includes one straight and one curve. You start off on the curve and finish at the straight. This race tends to be one of the most popular. The whole track is the 400m. Now this race is definitely the hardest. This is a full on sprint around the whole track. You have to run full speed the whole time. So, if you enjoy a very fast, medium length race, the 400m is the one for you. Choosing your correct races in track is very important in your success and running abilities. So, it is crucial to pick the right one.
