When your API is a core part of your business, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring that all your customers have a fast response time. Nowadays, even small businesses might have a distributed, global customer base, and you don’t want them suffering from a slow and unresponsive experience.

It’s crucial that your API is just as fast from your office, as it is from across the globe.

The year is almost over, but we’re still working hard here at Runscope. We’ve just added two new locations that you can use to test and monitor your API: Canada (Central) and London.

Global API Monitoring

That’s why we have you covered, now with 16 global locations that you can use to test and monitor your APIs. More recently, we’ve just added Canada (Central) and London to the list. The full list includes:

  • US Virginia
  • US California
  • US Illinois
  • US Texas
  • US Oregon
  • Ireland
  • Germany (Frankfurt)
  • Australia (Sydney)
  • Singapore
  • Hong Kong
  • Japan (Tokyo)
  • Brazil (São Paulo)
  • India (Mumbai)
  • US Ohio
  • Canada (Central)
  • London

How to Add Locations to Your Tests

Activating new locations for your tests is really easy. Just open your API tests Editor, click on Environment Settings, select Locations on the left-hand side, and toggle the locations you wish to use:

Your API Performance Report email will then show response times and success rates compared to the previous day for every location. This will help you stay ahead of any latency issues that are too small to cause a test failure, and pinpoint any problems even before your customers do.

We also want to wish everyone happy holidays, and we look forward to another 200 OK year!
