After the announcement to create a Rust Learning Group in the IOTA Ecosystem, we got a lot of nice feedback and many people are interested. We did setup a Repository and a Website with learning material and planning to create articles, videos and workshops about Rust in the future.

What is the goal?

A Guideline for Rust and programming newcomers.

The main goal is to collect learning resources an categorize them. The guide should have many entry points β€” so people with no experience in coding can join at the start β€” and people which can write other programming languages, can just start with Rust specific exercise.

Awesome Rust & IOTA

You maybe know the awesome lists β€” for example, here is the list for Rust.

Awesome list are repositories with a lot of awesome resources as links about their topic. We take care about a list, where all information about iOTA & Rust is collected. Take a look here β€” the Awesome IOTA Rust list.

Creating and sharing content

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.
Confucius

If you tech something to others β€” you need to understand it. That’s why we aiming to create own content around Rust. This could be articles, videos or workshops β€” online and offline. Share and strength your knowledge within the learning group.

Across many Discord servers.

The learning group has not a own discord server, instead it uses the #rust channels of different Servers. Currently, we are available on different Discords β€” IOTA, einfachIOTA and Open Marketplace Applications (OMA) are the public servers. We’re also active in the IOTA Evangelist Network (IEN) Discord server. The goal is to spread learnings and information to these different servers. If you have a server and also want to contribute on this learning group β€” just write something in one of these #rust channels.

Join the working group now!

Add your GitHub and Discord handle to our member list and say Hello in one of the Discord channels β€” ad start with some Rust exercises. Have fun!
