I’m back, with some thoughts that I couldn’t skip sharing again.

This time, it’s about the most beloved programming language (according to StackOverflow) — that I like very much as well, although it was “named after a fungus”…

In fact, it’s not even about the language itself, but about the Foundation and Project that govern it. Bureaucracy related.

It seems there were, indeed, a couple of not-so-good recent events connected to these entities… and my fear was that these events and the negative rumors surrounding them could hurt the genuine love that people, otherwise, show for the language.

Well, my worries were dismissed, and I’m very glad to say (again) that open source has very good outcomes too: the community (or at least a part of it, i.e. individuals who worried even more than I did) has apparently regrouped and forked the original technical thing into a new… “species”:

Disclaimer: Hereby I don’t say this is the right way to continue — I do think that the “official government entities” may actually learn from their mistakes and become better in the future. What I want to say instead is just that I’m glad people and their love for [whatever the name of the language] will move forward anyway, even in case of non-tech people-related disasters!
