Are you bored of your Mac and wish to spice it up a bit? Look no further, we got you! Here are some really cool ways you can customize your mac :)

1. Change your screensaver

Apple recently came out with its super cool and bubbly ‘hello’ screensaver.

To install the screensaver:

  • Search in spotlight ‘hello.saver’ and drag it to your desktop.
  • Rename it to anything you want. I have it saved as ‘hellocopy.saver’. If you don’t rename it, your mac will tell you that you already have it installed.
  • Double click on it to install.
  • Enter your username and password.
  • Once installed, you can see it in your system preferences under screen saver. You can toggle on different options in screen saver options. I have ‘soft tones’ since I really like the pastel colors.
  • Here’s the final product!

2. Rotating wallpapers

  • Download desktop wallpapers from Pinterest, Canva, Unsplash.com, or Google. I like to download mine from Unsplash because it has the cutest wallpapers and they don’t lose quality.
  • Store the wallpapers in a folder on your desktop. Open System Preferences and go to Desktop & Screen Saver.
  • Drag the wallpapers folder in Desktop and now you have the option to change the picture every few minutes.

3. Change your folder icons

  • To change the icons of any folder, copy the image you want to the clipboard. Make sure the image you copy has a transparent background.
  • Right click on the folder, and select Get Info. Click on the icon and make sure it is selected.
  • Paste the image you had copied and viola! You have your very own icon ^_^
  • You can do the same with the app icons on your computer.

4. Add your favorite websites to your dock

  • I mainly use this for YouTube and Netflix, since there are no special apps.
  • Open YouTube on your web browser and drag youtube.com on your desktop.
  • Right click on the icon and select Get Info , paste the choice of your icon and drag & add it to the dock.

5. Changing the color scheme of your cursor

  • For this, you need to update your software to macOS Monterey.
  • Go to Accessibility under System Preferences and choose Display from the menu.
  • Now click on the Pointer tab and you can choose a different color for outline color and fill color.

6. Set animated Memoji for login screen on Mac

  • For this, you need to update your software to macOS Monterey.
  • Go to Users & Groups in System Preferences.
  • Choose the profile for which you wish to add animated Emoji.
  • Hover over the profile picture and hit edit.
  • Select Memoji from the list and create a customized animated Memoji.
  • Play around with different poses and styles. Align it on Login Circle screen.
  • Hit save once & done!
  • The Memoji interacts! Try it for yourself by entering the wrong password and see what happens ;)
