It’s a long drive to drink fuzzy peach wine but worth it!

When we arrived at Heritage Wine Cellars, we didn’t know what to expect which is normal for a Harvest Host stay. However, that is not a bad thing. We have never been disappointed with our Harvest Host membership and the unknowns are what makes these stays enjoyable. For instance, when we pulled up, we were welcomed by a small gravel parking lot and a oversized grassy yard. I suppose many people might call the area a pasture but where I come from that implies animals grazing.

Side note: Throughout Pennsylvania and Upstate New York there is an abundance of grass in front of homes, business and sometimes along the roadside that require mowing. We assume this is because the weather is conducive to growing and not mowing would create unusable space that might also be a fire hazard. Though the grass doesn’t seem to dry out here as it does in Idaho.

We parked and walked up the steps to the wooden patio attached to the building. When two dogs greeted us, we knew these must be good people. The hostess walked outside and pointed to a expansive area behind the winery where we could park. She invited us and our pups in to enjoy a complementary wine tasting once we were settled. It doesn’t get much better than this!
