CES is the event for electronic enthusiasts. It’s held each year in Vegas, U.S. For those who can’t make it there, make sure to follow-up online on different channels to see what’s the latest.

So far the hype seems to be around cars, electric cars, autonomous cars, cars with sensors — so basically, cars.

Yet, there seems to be a particular car that has caught my attention and the attention of a lot of folks on the internet. The Faraday Future FF 91.

The car looks pretty amazing actually, but things seemed to stop at this point.

The so called “Tesla killer” is set to be a car for the upcoming Blade Runner Movie, which is not bad, except for the fact that the setting of the movie is on the year 2049. While most of us are already impressed with Tesla’s futuristic vision, the Faraday Future might just move us faster to the actualization of “future cars.”

Tesla P100D

However, the presentation from Faraday Future was filled with buzz words and not much action: “The first of a new species” or “the world’s first ecosystem connected car”, or better yet, “the car that may not be a car at all.

The FF 91 is an all-electric car that can drive and park itself. It’s neat looking design is very futuristic and it also has a wireless connection, Like most of the cars revealed at CES 2017, it boasts of speed, noting that the Faraday Future can go faster than Tesla P100D, which the company demonstrated during the demo.

But I think they missed Tesla’s point. The Faraday Future may not really be the “Tesla killer” since Telsa was never on the sole mission to build the fastest super electric car in the world. Tesla has shaken up the entire car industry of the world because of their solution to the imminent car problems of the present.

Tesla has build a superb car versions which can be bought in various Models (Model S, Model 3 and Model X, hence the letters S3X). They are making it affordable to customers across the world with the upcoming Model 3.

Tesla has created a super-charging infrastructure that nobody can compete with (at present) and it has also created related infrastructure such as the Solar Roof or the Tesla Powerwall. Tesla has forever shifted car manufacturers’ focus on electric car production. Subsequently, Tesla has influenced the oil industry to shift focus towards renewable energy resources and much more.

Oh, and did I forget they have also opened up their patents in 2014 so that everyone could join the ride!

So unless Faraday Future is building something like a Chevrolet Bolt, which is a far greater Tesla competitor than anyone else out there, I believe that Faraday Future will not become the “Tesla Killer” now.
