The Veterans Cannabis Group Teams Up with Phoenix, Arizona’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 720 to Produce the Inaugural CannaVet Festival on Saturday, January 22, 2022

The inaugural event produced in collaboration between the VCG and the VFW will provide a safe place for Veterans to connect with one another whilst learning how to effectively and safely use medicinal cannabis to support personal healing and well-being.

PHOENIX, AZ — January 11, 2022 — The Veterans Cannabis Group (VCG), a national non-profit advocacy organization founded in 2016, announced today its partnership with Phoenix, Arizona’s chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to produce CannaVet Fest, an inaugural flagship event designed to provide a safe place for Veterans to try medicinal cannabis and become educated on how to properly use it.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with the VCG in order to welcome our nation’s heroes for a day of fellowship, learning and healing,” stated VFW Post 720 Commander, Herb Harrison. “It is imperative to their post-service success that our Veteran women and men have safe access to medicines to alleviate their service-connected physical and emotional traumas.”

Featuring fun music, food, a job fair and medicinal cannabis to sample, CannaVet Fest also offers educational panels in which attendees can learn from medical experts and doctors about the various ways they can use medicinal cannabis.

In addition to educational panels, hands-on cooking classes will guide attendees as to how to make their own cannabis-infused edibles and topicals.

Also, as part of the event’s mission to build community through medicinal cannabis education, Veteran advocates will gather to share their personal stories about how medicinal cannabis has helped improve their lives.

Adds VCG Founder and former Army Sergeant, Aaron Augustis, “Our Veterans have fought bravely in service of our nation’s guiding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Now, it is our turn to help them by connecting them with career opportunities, with food and shelter should they need it, with medical help that’s enriching, not debilitating. And — of the utmost importance — they need community. CannaVet Fest strives to provide all this and more.”

Attendance to CannaVet Fest is FREE. Attendees must be 21-or-older and have as proof a government-issued ID. Doctors will be donating their time on the event day to assess and register attendees who require medicinal cannabis cards.
