Ryan’s Candidate Picks 2020

Who am I (and will not) be supporting.

The 2020 election season is in full swing. It is time we fight for the next generation of progressive leaders here in Arizona and around the country.

Starting from the top, here are my picks!

President & Vice President

  • Joe Biden & Kamala Harris

We need sanity restored in our national leaders. Joe and Kamala provide the kind of leadership that is so desperately needed right now. For this reason, I am supporting these two candidates for President and Vice President of the United States of America.

The U.S. Senator from Arizona

  • Mark Kelly

Captian Kelly is the leader we need right now in the U.S. Senate. His service to our country, brilliance, and powerful story make him the right leader to bring us the much-needed support Arizonans deserve.

Congressional District 7

  • No pick

Our current Representative, Ruben Gallego is a hypocrite. He is as establishment as they come and needs to be challenged in the next election. His complacency is not something any of us can continue to support.

Congressional District 9

  • Greg Stanton

Congressman Stanton is a remarkable and progressive leader. He is a strong advocate for LGBTQ+, Women & People of Color. I believe Congressman Stanton has energy, passion, and drive to continue serving the interests of the people.

Maricopa County Board of Supervisors District 3

  • Whitney Walker

Whitney Walker is a brilliant and progressive black woman with a powerful story. She tells it like it is, does not mince words, and stands firm on issues that matter. Her compassion, resilience, and dedication are what we need in our Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.

Maricopa County Attorney

  • Julie Gunnigle

I supported Julie early on and believe she will push for the kind of criminal justice reforms that are long overdue.

Maricopa County Recorder

  • Adrian Fontes

Not much to say other than, he is going above and beyond expectations!

Maricopa County Assessor

  • Aaron Conner

Aaron is smart, tech-savvy, and ready to serve our interests in this position.

Maricopa County Treasurer

  • No pick

I do not find any candidate qualified or ready for the challenges this position faces on either side of the political spectrum.

Maricopa County School Superintendent

  • No pick

We have enough establishment influence in our schools and don’t need more (read between the lines).

Balz School Board

  • Redeem Robinson

Mr. Robinson is offering viable solutions to address our struggling school system. Mr. Robinson is a community leader, person of faith, and genuine visionary that will bring fresh perspectives to our public school system.

LD24 State Legislature

  • Dr. Amish Shah

I do like Dr. Shah, he cares about our communities. Aside from that, the other candidate currently running does not have my vote. Running for leadership spots that have not even opened up yet before an election is pretty self-centered, in my opinion.

LD24 State Senate

  • No pick

The list will be updated on occasion, so stay tuned!
