Ten Days: Election Countdown
I believe we can all agree that the 2020 election needs to get behind us as much as the year 2020.
There are so many painstaking issues going on, and our leaders in Washington D.C. and across state legislators are failing people miserably.
A few days ago, I talked with a mother who is unemployed, recently single, and lost her job back in February. She was in tears talking about the struggles of paying rent and putting food on the table. With the pandemic unemployment insurance expired, and our elected officials doing nothing to address it, she fears being left without a place to live soon.
I can’t help but think about what our elected leaders are doing besides bickering like immature adolescents. How can they ignore the pain and suffering going on with so many people right now? It hurts to write about this because I remember when I didn’t have a place to go. We have all experienced issues in life that put us back or brought us forward. With the current pandemic unleashing so much devastation, it is hurtful that we do not have leaders looking out for our best interests.
You can make a difference and make a change this year. Vote like your life depends on it because it does. Former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are out there working day and night to help save our nation’s soul. They can’t do it without your help.
Together we can make a difference, but first, you need to vote. Make a plan; make it happen. Our lives are all depending on you to cast your ballot this year.
