We first launched Rylo just over a year ago with the belief that pairing powerful camera hardware with a magical app would allow anybody to create unbelievable video. In that time, we’ve been amazed by what our early adopters and fans have been able to do with Rylo.

We’ve received tons of feedback and feature requests along the way, and, as a software-first camera company, we’ve been able to address a lot of it. With the addition of 180° mode, motion blur time-lapse, and Bluetooth remote, every Rylo owner has a better camera today than they did when they bought it.

Today, we’re proud to announce our latest update, bringing two of the most-requested features to every Rylo owner — for free.

With today’s firmware update, Rylo will now be able to capture 360° video in 5.8K. Rylo also becomes the first 360° camera to offer mobile viewing, editing, and sharing with 5.8K capture.

And here’s the best part: To get the 5.8K Rylo experience, simply update the camera via the app.

Second: to provide even more flexibility, Rylo now offers a new desktop app for macOS.

The Rylo macOS app offers the same great editing capabilities and experience that consumers have come to expect from Rylo’s mobile apps, in an alternative format.

The macOS version is available today (click here to download) with a Windows version to follow in the coming months.

These free updates follow the many improvements we’ve made to the camera and app over the last year. We will continue to improve the camera experience more in the future. We hope that our ongoing improvements encourage our fans to go create and share even more unbelievable video.
