The break between championships gives the reinforcements the opportunity to get used to Ceni’s methodology
The players are now having more time to keep up with the way the coach works
For the first time this season, the team is having a break to prepare between championships — without the tight schedule of the beginning of the year. This break gives to the newcomers the opportunity to get used to the way Rogerio Ceni works, as it was for the rest of the cast in Florida.
The defender Edimar, the midfielders Jucilei and Thomaz and the forwards Marcinho, Morato and Lucas Pratto now have the chance to keep up with Ceni’s methodology, which is preparing the team for the rest of the season. “It’s an important moment, because we can work and do what Rogério demands on the pitch. We have more time to train and learn from him”, said Thomaz, who added.
“Besides, we can get along better with our teammates. We have taken advantage of this period to strengthen the team. With the tight schedule, we arrived at the club and went straight to the matches. But now, we have more time to get to know how the staff works”. He had his opinion shared by Morato.
“Arriving and playing was good on the one hand, because I’ve already become closer to the staff, but now I have the opportunity to get to know Rogério’s work without that pressure between matches. You can tell that it’s a different philosophy and I’ve adapted. We want to improve and to learn even more from the coach, in addition to being able to improve physically”, he said.
São Paulo is preparing to face Defensa y Justicia-ARG on May 11 at the Morumbi, which will be the second leg of the first phase of the Sudamericana. Later, the team will debut in the Brazilian Championship — on the 14th , In Belo Horizonte, São Paulo will face Cruzeiro in the opening round of the national competition.
