A Silent Scream in the Depths of My Heart

In the stillness of the night, when the world sleeps and the stars keep their silent watch, I find myself drowning in a sea of emotions. The shadows of memories play on the walls of my mind, each one a reminder of what once was and what can never be again. It’s in these moments of solitude that the silence becomes deafening, a silent scream that echoes through the depths of my heart.

There’s a certain kind of pain that words can never fully capture. It’s the ache of a love lost, the emptiness left behind by someone who once meant everything. It’s the haunting realization that no matter how much time passes, some wounds never truly heal. They lie dormant, waiting for a song, a scent, a whisper to bring them back to life.

“Her absence is like the sky, spread over everything,” C.S. Lewis once wrote, and I feel that truth deeply. It’s in the way the sun seems less bright, the days feel longer, and the nights, oh the nights, stretch into infinity. There are moments when I catch myself reaching out, hoping to grasp the remnants of a dream, only to find my hand closing on nothing but air.

People say time heals all wounds, but what they don’t tell you is that some wounds leave scars so deep, they become a part of you. They shape you, and mold you into someone new, someone who has known the sweetness of love and the bitterness of loss. And while the world moves on, for those of us left behind, time becomes a cruel reminder of what we had and what we’ve lost.

Yet, in this sea of sorrow, there are fleeting moments of beauty. It’s in the way a single tear can hold a thousand memories, or how the ache in your chest can remind you of the depth of your love. There’s a strange comfort in knowing that you once felt so deeply, that your heart was capable of such profound emotion.

And so, I sit here, pen in hand, trying to make sense of the chaos within. I write not to find answers, but to find peace. To give voice to the silent scream that echoes through my heart. To remind myself that even in the darkest of times, there is beauty in the pain and strength in the sorrow.

For, in the end, it’s our broken pieces that make us whole. It’s our tears that water the seeds of growth. And it’s the silent screams that remind us we are alive, capable of feeling, of loving, and of healing.

In the quiet of the night, under the watchful eyes of the stars, I find a semblance of peace. I close my eyes and let the tears fall, each one a testament to a love that was, a love that is, and a love that will always be.

“In the depths of despair, I find my strength. In the silence of my tears, I find my voice. And in the echoes of my heart, I find my truth.” — S.F. Geelani
