There are many differences between the outside and the inside. Primarily, all your stuff is inside where it’s warm and safe, and no one throws sticks at you. But there’s also stuff outside that may be worthwhile, too. We know that’s hard to believe, but hear us out. (And we don’t mean pizza, because that can be delivered.) To truly achieve an “I can even” attitude, you’re going to have to go outside and do stuff, just like you see on TV.

We’re going to take that undiagnosed agoraphobia by the horns and list everything you’ll encounter outside, for better or worse, and discuss strategies for dealing with it. Take a deep breath.

(Note: This post is based on real experience. One of the authors of this post suffered for years from extreme agoraphobia, which is like regular agoraphobia, but with a lot more Mountain Dew. The other author didn’t, although he was convinced for a time that everything on the Outside is made of cats. But now both of them go outside as often as twice a month!)

Pollen

Okay, yeah, so there’s pollen outside, sure. And it makes you sneeze, yeah, okay. We can’t argue with that. There’s also leaf mold and other stuff with even worse names…
