Here at Saastronomical, we believe that any business process can be enhanced with automation, which is why we are so focused on connecting the tools that power your business and your life using automation tools like Zapier and Integromat. When automation is introduced into a business process you can expect an impact on the following key aspects of your processes.

Communication

Automating communication can come in many forms, but it’s most effective when global milestones are reached, you may want to trigger a slack notification to your team in the following situations so that your team can remain informed on the important things, for example:

  1. An important deal has closed
  2. Your company was mentioned by an influencer on social media
  3. A key customer has reviewed your brand
  4. Your company has hit a revenue/savings milestone

Reminders

Automation can play a pivotal role in reinforcing desired outcomes and behaviours, by providing timely and relevant reminders about key tasks that are required at different stages in the process. Two excellent examples of this from this week are from two pieces of Software that Saastronomical recommends:

Hugo

Before and after a meeting with a client, prospect or colleague, often the topics, outcomes and purpose get forgotten over time, but with Hugo, which is a note-taking collaboration tool, it reminds you to prepare for your meetings ahead and then reminds you to keep notes of your meetings.

ClickUp

Another great tool which will give you automatic reminders is Clickup. ClickUp is a Project Management suite of tools to help move you through a project, and opportunity, or really anything that has a beginning and a middle. ClickUp will give you daily reminders of your priorities to ensure that all of your projects stay on track.

Reporting

Reporting is normally an afterthought when building out a process, and that’s because of the nature of reporting. It must exist after process creation because, without the definition and QA stage of process and automation, it is very hard to define. Just because it naturally comes after a process has been built, doesn’t make it any less important, and without a reporting tool, you will struggle to justify your investment in any automation or process you have built in the longer term. Ensure that, wherever possible, you are giving yourself an opportunity to report on what is happening throughout your process.
