Dunkin’ Donuts Will Offer Home Delivery
Dunkin’ Donuts will begin delivering their breakfast items which includes bagels, donuts, breakfast sandwiches and wraps, along with coffee in the start of 2016. Nigel Travis, CEO of Dunkin’ Donuts, told CNBC in an interview on June 7 about the new delivery service. “I think the next few years you’re going to see us get more and more into delivery,” Travis said.
The new service will allow customers to order through their mobile app, DD Perks. The mobile app update coming next year will allow members to order curbside, in-store pickup, and have it delivered to their front door.
Travis said that the new delivery system is being tested in designated areas and if it is successful, it will be released to all DD Perks members. DD Perks is the app that Dunkin’ Donuts uses for their rewards program. The program allows customers to gain five points on every dollar spent and once a member has reached 200 points, they are given a reward coupon for a free beverage.
Michael Galasso, 34, an avid Dunkin’ Donuts coffee drinker, said that the newest perk is something he looks forward to.
“I will absolutely love on a Sunday morning when I know the line will be wrapped throughout the parking lot, to know I can have it delivered to my front door,” Galasso said.
