Los Angeles votes to raise minimum wage

On Tues., May 19, the Los Angeles City Council voted on the measure to increase the hourly minimum wage from $9 to $15 an hour by 2020. In a 14–1 vote, the council ruled that businesses with more than 25 employees must meet the $15 pay by 2020, whereas small business owners would have an additional year to comply to the pay.
