Recently, a video went viral on Twitter of a man doing the McNasty with an innocent McChicken sandwich. The person who posted the video, Twitter user @_Salamander_Man, claims it wasn’t his video, and that he was a 15-year-old boy. However, before the video was posted he did tweet this.

There was much deliberation over who exactly was in the video and why “Salamander” decided to post it. He claimed that he has no connection to the video, aside from posting it. Twitter fiends went crazy when they logged on to find #McChicken trending and finding the video rather than the coupon or offer they expected.

And in true social media fashion, countless of memes ensued.

The video is graphic. Out there. But where is the point behind it? There have been other people on social media who have taken to using food to prove a point when it came to sexual issues.

One of which is the popular Fingering Fruits For Feminism, or the Four F’s. Stephanie Sarley created the series in order to “fight to reclaim women’s sexuality.” In her eyes, she is creating art “through the female gaze, rather than the filter of the male gaze.” Although her Instagram account was taken down for sexually suggestive content, she maintained a YouTube account showcasing her art.

The difference between her sexual references to fruit and whoever created the video with the McDonald’s sandwich is the purpose. It seems Mr. McLovin’ It created the video with the sole purpose of attracting attention, which he got, but aside from the uproar, there was nothing. Unless he has a genuine fetish for breaded chicken and mayo, another purpose is unlikely.

Which would beg the question, why record it? And if the original poster had no ties with the guy in the video then how did he obtain it? He mentions how the video he posted doesn’t have much popularity but through someone else retweeting and quote tweeting is how it blew up.

All in all the video is pretty vile. But if the “Burger Burglar” wants to keep lovin’ on them sandwiches, then have a cause behind it. A purpose. Because his meat doesn’t belong in any sandwich I’m interested in eating any time soon.
