With a new album out now and an upcoming tour, The Red Hot Chili Peppers are not stopping anytime soon. They’ve gained members and lost members, but RHCP have always been the rock/pop Gods that provided us with songs for every occasion. As we count down to their tour, let’s look back at their top 10 songs.

1. Californication

The band recorded this song back in 1999 for the album “Califorincation,” but didn’t release the song till May 20, 2000. When the song released, it reached #69 on Billboard’s Hot 100, as well as #16 on the U.K. charts. “Califorincation” has been one of their most popular songs and one of the bands most performed songs. 16 years later are we still dream of Californication.

2. Can’t Stop

RHCP recorded “Can’t Stop” back in 2002, but they didn’t release it until January 24, 2003, for the album “By The Way.” “Can’t Stop” peaked at #57 on Billboard Hot 100 and was Red Hot Chili Peppers 8th #1 song on Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, where it spent three weeks there. “Can’t Stop” is the songs only #1 single that was not included in their “Greatest Hits” album in 2003. “Come and tell me when it’s time to” get down to this song.

3. Snow (Hey Oh)

Red Hot Chili Peppers recorded this song back in 2005, but it didn’t release until November 20, 2006 for the album “Stadium Arcadium.” When they released this song, it was a follow up single to the song “Tell Me Baby,” which was also released in 2006. “Snow” was the bands third straight song to make #1 on Billboards Modern Rock Track which stayed at #1 for five weeks straight. Snow was also there 11th song to top those charts, which was the all-time record for any artist on that chart, which they still hold today but with 13 songs. Everyone knows this catchy tune, especially the “Heyyyyyyyy-oh’s.”

4. Dani California

“Dani California” was the bands single for their ninth studio album, “Stadium Arcadium.” This song was first made available only on iTunes, before it was officially released on May 2, 2006. When this song debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100, it came in at #24 and its peak was #6. The song was the second in history to debut at #1 on the Billboards Modern Rock Track where it spent 14 weeks there. This song also won two Grammy Awards one being “Best Rock Song” and the other being” Best Rock Performance by a duo or group with vocal.” After all, “California, rest in peace.”

5. Scar Tissue

Released onMay 25, 1999, for the album “Califorincation,” “Scar Tissue” has been one of the bands most successful songs. They spent 16 weeks straight on Billboard’s Modern Rock Track list as well as 10 weeks on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Track. The song peaked at #9 on Billboards Hot 100. “Scar Tissue” also won a Grammy Award in 2000 for “Best Rock Song.” The guitar solo in the song is ranked 63 on the top 100 guitar solos in songs. The lyric “to lick your heart and taste your health” is still a banger, as well.

6. Under The Bridge

Released on March 10, 1992 for the album “Blood Sugar Sex Magik,” vocalist Anthony Kiedis wrote the lyrics to the song to express loneliness and despondency and to reflect what impacts narcotics had on his life. “Under The Bridge” peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The music video won “Viewer’s Choice Award and Breakthrough” video at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards.

7. Otherside

RHCP released this song on January 11, 2000 for “Califorinacation.” The songs peak was 14 on Billboards Hot 100, which is the fourth highest for the band. The song did rank #1 for the U.S. Modern Rock Track which was fifth for the band. Otherside remained there for 14 straight weeks and has been a staple for the band being one of their top 10 most performed songs.

8. By The Way

Released July 9, 2002 on the Warner Bros Records. This song sold a massive 268,000 thousand copies in the first week when the song was released. “By The Way” peaked at #2 on Billboards 200. If you don’t like this song, we “guess you never meant it.”

9. Aeroplane

“Aeroplane” was recorded in 1995, but wasn’t released until March 14, 1996 with the album “One Hot Minute.” The song itself was left out on their “Greatest Hit’s” album, but the music video was included in the album. Enjoy the masterpiece above.

10. The Zephyr Song

Released on August 17, 2002 as a single, the song was released in two parts and it peaked at #6 on Modern Rock Charts. The song is about nature’s healing power and the human connection. “The Zephyr Song” had its music video released on December 1, 2002 and was directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Farris.
