  1. Biking & camping at Tbilisi National Park (Sabadurebi Forest)

do not miss the chance to check the bike paths thru the park on two wheels. the paths offers stunning views and cycling adventures you wont easily forget. Tbilisi national park is about 20 km from Sioni.

2. Easy hiking to Bochorma Fortress
Bochorma is located around 15 km away from Sioni, on a hillside 1,000 m above the sea level . From such a height the surroundings from all sides were visible as far as eyes could see.

3. Visiting Archili Monastery (about 23km away from Sioni)

The monastery consists of two churches, a tower and residential buildings. The earliest building dates back to VIII century. The tower belongs to XVII-XVIII centuries.

4. Fishing on a lake Sioni

Fishing lovers come quite often at the lake for fishing and camping (Sioni reservoir gets its feed basically from river Iori), there is a lot of fish in Sioni reservoir as sazan, common carp, silver carp.

6. Eat Khinkali and Dambali Khacho

Khinkali — originated in the Georgian mountainous regions of Pshavi, Mtiuleti and Khevsureti. The fillings vary from area to area. The original recipe mainly consists of minced meat (lamb or beef and pork mixed), onions, chili pepper, parsley, coriander, cumin and salt. Mushrooms, potatoes, or cheese may be used instead of meat.

Dambali Khacho is a mildewed cheese (a Pshav dish that was recognized as part of Georgia’s intangible heritage in 2014), made of quark. It is kept wrapped in a paper and kept in clay pots. As a rule, dambali khacho is cooked in melted butter do not miss the chance to take a part of preparing / tasting this dish.
