SafeBoda WALLET is live!

We live in a majorly cashless society. From the POS attendant at the filling station to the Cashier at the Supermarket or restaurant, even down to the Cab driver whose favourite phrase is “Cash or Card”, cashless payment is a phenomenon that has come to stay for the best part.

Ever since its introduction in the 1990s, electronic payments have helped for better bookkeeping, budgeting, and many more.

It is on the back of this that SafeBoda is pleased to announce a partnership with Flutterwave to launch the WALLET feature.

WALLET? WHAT’S THAT?

The wallet feature is a payment feature on the SafeBoda app that affords users the ability to pay electronically. It rides on the convenience offering of the SafeBoda app by ensuring that you’re never at the mercy of a Rider who doesn’t have change or a Passenger who doesn’t as well. See here for types of okada passengers.

WHAT CAN I USE IT FOR?

With the Wallet feature, you can pay for rides and deliveries as well as buy airtime directly from your SafeBoda app.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Wallet Top-up

To top up your SafeBoda wallet,

1. Go to your app store and update your SafeBoda app. Updating your app gives you access to this cool new feature.
2. Open your SafeBoda app and click on “Top-up”. This will take you to a different page.
3. Click on the “Credit/Debit card” option.
4. Key in your email address and the amount you want to top up your wallet with.
5. Enter your card details.
6. Wait for a One-Time Password to be sent to the number attached to your Card.
7. Enter OTP.
8. Your wallet is loaded and ready to be used!

Airtime Purchase

To buy airtime on the SafeBoda app,

1. Open your SafeBoda app.
2. Click on the “Buy Airtime” icon on the homepage.
3. Proceed to “Buy airtime”.
4. Enter the number of the recipient. Note that you don’t have to specify the service provider.
5. Select the amount you want to recharge.
6. Enter your SafeBoda Wallet Pin
7. Click on “Buy” and receive your airtime instantly.
