We’re delighted to announce ChainRift will open trading for MAID/BTC trading pairs at 18:00 GMT on Monday 17th September 2018.

Over the past month or so, we’ve had a number of discussions with the team at ChainRift and we’ve been attracted to their vision for building the exchange. ChainRift are looking to be at the forefront of technological innovation when it comes to integrating new exchange technologies and we have been impressed by their plans for the future. For example, they are currently in collaboration with multiple promising projects working around non-custodian/decentralised concepts, harnessing the use of SegWit-enabled technology such as the Lightning Network and Atomic Swaps. For the near future, ChainRift’s next milestone is to enable Lightning deposits and withdrawals on the exchange.

Although ChainRift itself launched fairly recently, the team behind it has been in the space since 2013, evolving from a technical consultancy firm with a specific focus on Bitcoin development. To differentiate from competitors, the ChainRift team intends to deliver a prime community and user focused experience first and foremost, and this is evidenced by their transparency alongside constant iteration on user feedback. Just over one month from launch, the exchange has over 1000 active traders signed up. It is also a positive sign that they are keen to keep a highly curated list of coins moving forwards — as opposed to the ‘list everything’ mentality that can be seen elsewhere.

As a result, we’ll be providing some early liquidity to the ChainRift and we’re delighted to offer another trading option for those in the community who have been keen to find an alternative place to trade their MAID. The ChainRift team will be doing an AMA on the Safe Network Forum and also on Monday on Reddit and we’d encourage you all to ask them any questions that you might have.
