Saffron Staking V2 is Live on Ethereum Mainnet
Starting today, the Saffron Staking V2 web3 app goes live on ethereum mainnet with SFI single-asset staking, SFI/WETH LP pairs (Uniswap and SushiSwap), and our other partner pools.
The web3 app can be accessed as usual on the https://app.saffron.finance/ portal. Saffron Staking V2 is the first of many perpetual pools to be released, doing away with the old epoch system, and giving users a new option to passively participate in the Saffron protocol. Saffron Staking V2 is the only way to earn SFI emissions, which is how all SFI are generated, through liquidity mining on every block.
Saffron Staking V2 Details
Before we go any further, it is important to cover some of the important details of the launch, to set expectations:
- Deposits are live now on https://app.saffron.finance/
- Rewards are turned off (0 SFI per block) until Sunday, October 24th
- On Sunday, rewards will go live according to the amount decided in a governance vote / discussion on gov.saffron.finance
This gives everyone an equal opportunity to stake their tokens before rewards begin can be earned and removes any unfair advantage due to time zone or happenstance.
More technical details:
- The site currently supports four wallet connections: Metamask, Coinbase Wallet, Fortmatic, and WalletConnect
- The site is optimized for desktop only
- There have been users who are able to successfully deposit/withdraw on their mobile device, however, there is no guarantee this will work for everyone because mobile optimization is still a work in progress
Voting Power
As a reminder, as soon as our new snapshot strategy is completed, users who stake SFI in any Saffron Staking V2 pool are eligible for enhanced voting power in the Saffron governance process… and may be eligible for new types of non-emission rewards in the future as well.
Notes on Saffron V1 Migration
Users with LP tokens still staked in Saffron V1 can withdraw them from one of the V1 user interfaces (either https://v1.saffron.finance/ or https://beta.saffron.finance/). Remember, tokens can be unstaked from Saffron V1 at any time, there is no time limit to unstake.
