What’s new in the week of 7/27/22–8/02/22.

It’s been a busy week for the industry and Saffron hasn’t been slacking either! Today we’re recapping our recent news with KogeFarm, giving another development update, and announcing a town hall! Let’s dive in:

Saffron x KogeFarm

Earlier this week Saffron announced that we will be taking over maintaining KogeFarm. We’re extremely excited about this opportunity to welcome the Koge community into the Saffron ecosystem. Saffron will manage the web3 app, and the Saffron DAO will also receive KOGE according to the vesting schedule for the previous KogeCoin team. You can find out more information and what this means for Saffron and Koge by reading our announcement article here.

Turpintinz Developer Update

Turpintinz gives us our weekly update on his progress on the Badger integration:

Hi, all! Last week I was able to fix that problem described last and moved on to code clean up and optimization of the Bagder integration. Thus week I expect completing the smart contract development work. Yea! But, I have several production related scripts that’ll automate some activities to work on. I’ll get to them next week.

Psykeeper Developer Update

In addition, Psykeeper gives us another general development update:

The Saffron development team has been working on a few outstanding priorities to bring new features and products to the DeFi ecosystem on ethereum mainnet:

1. Saffron V2 insurance pools
2. Saffron fixed income vaults
3. Saffron’s new Tiramisu product

The V2 insurance pools launched in March on KCC were the precursor to our plan to launch sustainable yield products on ethereum mainnet, starting with Bitcoin yield via Badger DAO. The process of whitelisting contract interaction on Badger DAO, auditing our code, and launching an automated autocompounding pool is nearly complete. Please see turpintinz’s latest updated for more information on the progress being made here

Saffron’s fixed income vaults are another current dev focus and have been developed for both single asset staking/lending and for uniswap V3 liquidating providing. This new vault type will give senior tranche depositors a chance to use their capital to earn fixed income while the junior tranche speculates on the underlying yield source

Finally, we released a sneak preview of Tiramisu, which uses the aforementioned vault structure to generate single staking yield for any asset given any underlying platform by splitting up variable yield risk into tranches

Tiramisu Update

In case you missed our announcement, we’ve recently unveiled Tiramisu — Saffron’s future interest rate swap instrument. You can find an in-depth post from Psykeeper and Rx3a97 on the subject here. The research team has been doing phenomenal work and we’re excited to share more information on this new initiative soon.
