What’s new in the week of 9/30/22–10/06/22.

Happy Friday! While the crypto industry continues to deal with the bear market blues, we’re busy working on the audit process for V2. In the meantime we have a new governance proposal that was put forth by the community concerning staking rewards and modifying them for the future. If you’ve ever participated in receiving SFI for staking your own SFI, this governance proposal may directly impact you — so we encourage you to participate.

[Snapshot Voting] Saffron Staking Rewards Renewal

If you’ve been following our twitter — you’ll know that governance voting is now live for renewing our Saffron Staking rewards. To recap for those not in-the-know, our SFI staking rewards have ended and this proposal put forth by vd_eth aims to renew them for another year. Users can vote using their SFI to dictate the immediate future of our staking rewards. Readers interested in participating in this proposal can use the link above or click here. Make sure to use your wallet that holds SFI, as 1 SFI = 1 vote.

Keep in mind if the Make no change option wins, that doesn’t mean that this issue becomes off the table for discussion — in fact I would argue that in this case it would mean that the voting options for the rewards didn’t accurately represent the community sentiment. If the Make no change option passes, users are welcome to immediately create another proposal with different choices to try and reach a consensus. As single sided staking is attractive, especially to newcomers to a protocol, this is an incredibly important proposal and discussion around this is highly encouraged. Therefore, it’s important that the community decides on the exact allocation amounts.

Saffron V2 Vault Page Preview

While we still have our audits ongoing for Saffron V2, we can showcase the new Vaults page that will be releasing alongside it. Here you can see the deposit, withdraw, and claim functions as well as a revamped, intuitive UI that makes the vault information more easily discernible to both veterans and newcomers to decentralized finance. We’re really impressed with our UI/UX team’s work on this and we’re excited to see how our users react to it. I’m eager to hear your thoughts on it and any feedback you might have is greatly appreciated — let us know on our Telegram/Discord.

Developer Update

Earlier this week Turpintinz gave us another development update:

Regarding the Saffron/Badger integration: I completed the coding and fixing of tests for the automatic compounding described earlier. I’ve moved on to updating the insurance fund contract to work correctly with Aura — BADGER/WBTC vault (contract and tests). The current plan is to have that effort completed this week.

Koge Town Hall Recap

Last week we held a town hall on the KogeCoin Discord. You can view the entire recap of the town hall here. The Koge community is an incredibly fun one and we want to make sure we continue to honor that as we take over maintaining the protocol, thank you to everyone who participated and we can’t wait to see you all at the next one.

See you all next week!
