Happy New Year SAG Nation! It’s a very special occasion, one of joyous and seasonal celebration. Welcome to the 2021 SAG Christmas Special.
Please be seated, gather round the festivus pole, pour yourself a large measure of your preferred holiday elixir, corral the nearby younglings and prepare them to be regaled with a tale from the annals of SAG lore. The SAG 2021 Christmas Special is an extract taken from the yet to be released series of SAG Story Time Tales (a limited collab between the Commissioner's Office and the wonderfully talented artistic stylings of the Patches Average Joe’s). Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
Everything was quiet except for the lip from the Rubbers as he took a 20 point lead during the SAG Bowl of 2011.
Victor Cruz had 24, Vick had 21, and Franky Gore in the flex had Channel4 News Team on the ropes…
…old balls Clarke starts mouthing off after a couple of shandies declaring that the Rubbers were to be crowned SAG Bowl Inaugural champions, booking jacket fittings, and really going the early crow on Christmas Eve.
In an aggressive stance of leadership not seen for another 10 years, C4NT refused to concede and outwardly responded to all missives from Clarke that collusion was at hand and his claim to victory was erroneous.
With only Drew left to play, there was life in the News Team yet, with the Saints hosting a huge rivalry game against Atlanta. Hope was alive at Channel4 HQ, but anxiety levels were high.
Drew was carrying some ominous form coming into SAG Bowl week and the scene was set for a Drew Christmas Miracle!
It was an unseasonably cold winter that year in NOLA, the locals had to clear the snow off Bourbon Street to get their pregame hurricanes and po'boys.
Voodoo dolls were being prepared to invoke a hex on the Falcons as they rolled into the Superdome for the highly anticipated division rivalry matchup.
The Saints exploded, toweling the Falcons 45–16, and moving to 12–3 on the year in the process!
The Drew Christmas Miracle was complete as he passed for 307 yards and 4 TDs!!!
His 27 points thrust the C4NT into the lead and the streets erupted as the Channel4 News Team were crowned the inaugural SAG Bowl Champions.
