There was a time when I looked up to the wealthy elites and believed their overall vision for the future. There was a time when I enjoyed their success stories and spoke about them.

I always said with pride how I refuse to drive a car because someday Elon Musk’s self-driving cars would make a driver’s license obsolete. Why get a license when driving a car of the future was pressing a single button?

But these days I know better than to put my faith in Musk, let alone tech billionaires.

Such is the case I feel right now with Bill Gates openly proposing that people could enjoy a two-day work week within the next 10 years thanks to the power of AI.

As exciting as that idea sounds, it doesn’t give me much confidence for several reasons.

For one, Microsoft has been at the forefront of tech hypes and has paid the price for it. When crypto was a big craze, they tried to capitalize on Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) and created Azure, a now defunct program.

The only difference now is AI is a steeper cost.

Being OpenAI’s biggest financial backer right now, Microsoft is learning how bad OpenAI is as a business model and its products.

I write (and sometimes do videos) about self-help for those who don't like self-help. Complete with the occasional memes and riffs on the industry that I love.
