Here Is How I’m Making More Friends

The older we get, the harder it is to make friends with people. It’s a costly commitment, and with our inherent need to move quickly, we naturally try to shortcut the sequence.

We’ve got tech billionaires creating AI bots that will be our friends and companions. They’re selling the idea that all we really need in the future isn’t human connection, but rather human-like connection.

They’re wrong.

AI as it stands really wants us to kill ourselves rather than form anything meaningful, as if it even could.

The only other option is to learn how to make friends in a genuine way. It’s difficult these days as countries are more divided and people are colder and more cynical. I can’t blame people for that considering all the pain, suffering, and hatred that is on display.

But I see this cold demeanour as more of a reason to reach out and form connections with others. That that shouldn’t be a reason to distrust everyone and be more isolated.

I know isolation all too well and see how pointless it is. As such, I’ve been working little by little on being less of that. To not just have a sunny disposition, but to make friends.
