I Have Several Hobbies, and I’m Happier
Having more hobbies isn’t as bad as you might think
As children, our lives were complete chaos. Aside from school, our leisure time was spent scattered.
For me, it was a jump between spending time with friends in my neighbourhood to playing with Legos in my room by myself. I played video games on occasion and also spent time drawing or writing.
At one point I even tried designing a card game as well as a fantasy novel series.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve still maintained that sense of chaos. As much as I love writing, I also enjoy entertaining. I’ve been working a little on my YouTube channel, but I’d also like to be a streamer on Twitch some day.
I also still enjoy drawing as well and I have a few puzzles that I have yet to bust open too. All the while, I keep building a list of desires and things I genuinely want to be trying out.
I know full well that I’m an outlier. It’s easy to look at this and either feel overwhelmed if you were in my shoes or criticize me for not committing to one thing.
But while that can be true, I’m of the mind that having more hobbies and more desires to a degree leads to a richer and more diverse life. And being able to focus in on a handful of hobbies can yield the…
