Rich people love to quote Marcus Aurelius.

“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive — to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.”

The thing is that you have to be rich to be able to appreciate the “precious privilege.” Poor people don’t have the mental headspace because when they “arise in the morning,” they think of unpaid bills, their shitty job (or lack thereof), their even worse boss, and all the tasks on their to-do list and how they can’t afford to pay someone else to do them.
